Today has been insane! We got up at 6:15am (I asked my son to literally drag me out of bed so I'd be sure to get up since he has NO problem getting out of bed). Taking me at my word, he came into my room to get me up this morning. He started smacking my face-this did not last long after I told him to stop. It hurt! I told him "Come back in 10 minutes." He said "No! You need to get up." Then he grabbed my hand and started dragging me out of bed. It was rough...but it worked! I got up and while we still didn't leave the house any earlier than we usually do, at least I was up and able to get the kids ready and shower and shave and all of that nonsense.
The rest of the day was just a whirlwind. Staff meeting at work. Left work early for a doctor's appointment. Picked the kids up from school. Took Abbey to speech therapy. Went to the grocery store. Picked up prescriptions from Walgreens. Finally...we made it home just before 7:30pm. We ushered the children into bed and then Kris went downstairs to work. That left me to participate in my first "Willpower Wednesday". You can read more about that here.
I really had more I wanted to write about...but it is almost 1am and I really need to get to bed. I spent an hour and a half longer working on my Willpower Wednesday activities than I had anticipated. The most important thing I wanted to write tonight though is about how proud I am of this girl that I have never met. Not too long ago, I wrote about how people dress these days (Just Like Her Mother...). I get so concerned and angry when I see people, especially young girls dressed to look like they are ready to hit the street corners. Sorry but I am not sure how else to put it. Recently I came across a blog written by a teenage girl. She loves the Lord and isn't afraid to 'speak up', and I personally admire her and think that she is wise beyond her years. She had a post today that floored me and I just wanted to share it with you. Check it out here:

This is absolutely the sweetest thing ever!! I feel soooo honored!!! Thank you sooo much!!! I agree with you on the street corner thing. It makes me angry to see other teens making a bad image for us who don't act out the way they do. Thanks for featuring me! It really means a lot. God bless.
